Tampa Bay Lightning 4 Winnipeg Jets 2 (Jets 19-22-4, Home 10-9-1) – The loss snapped the Jets three game home winning streak and extended their losing streak to four after the 0-3 road trip. Its the first time this season they have dropped four straight regulation games. There wasnt a lot of offensive flow to Tuesdays game with the Lightning outshooting the Jets 5-2 in the first with Valtteri Filppula opening the scoring 1:20 in. The Jets capitalized on a 5-on-3 power play to tie the game 1-1. Olli Jokinen converted a Mark Scheifele pass, Jokinens 11th on the year and first power play goal of the season. For Scheifele it was his 13th point in the last 14 games. Scheifele, who had five points in his first 24 games, now has 18 in his last 22 games. Dustin Byfuglien also had an assist on the goal. There was a little more action in the second with the shots 12-7 in favour of the Lightning, with each team scoring a goal. The Jets took a 2-1 lead on a power play goal by Byfuglien, assists to Blake Wheeler and Ondrej Pavelec. Byfuglien now has 12 points, including four goals, in his last 13 games. Ondrej Palat tied the game at 15:37 on an odd man rush. The third period was all Tampa. They outshot the Jets 16-5, outscored them 2-0 and watched as the Jets frustration level boiled over. Pavelec was the only reason this game stayed close as the final shots were 33-14. Marty St. Louis on a power play made it a 3-2 game, St. Louis then added an empty net goal to put the game away. In the final 15 minutes of the third the Jets took five minor penalties and a fighting major. On the empty net goal Zach Bogosian lost his footing and went hard into the back boards, and headed straight for the dressing room with an upper body injury. There was no post game update on his condition. The Jet had only 14 shots, their lowest total this season. Scheifele played a season high 20:56, while Devin Setoguchi saw his ice time drop to a season low 5:35. Setoguchi has not scored in 17 games. Bryan Little has now gone 11 games without a goal. Playing seven games in 12 days seems to have taken a toll on the Jets as there was not a lot of jump to their game. Bogosian and Eric Tangradi each had three shots on goal. The power play connected twice, after going zero for 13 over the last six games. From players to coach Claude Noel, the frustration was evident in the post-game interviews. “The game was poorly played, poorly executed. We did not get anything out of that game that was positive. For us this is the worst weve played. We had nothing. It was a very empty game and we got very little production.” When asked if he got enough out of his top players, Noel said, “The whole body of work was not very good. Im not going to throw our best players under the bus. Thats not going to happen. Well look at it and try and figure out where we go from here.” The Jets do not play again until Saturday when the three-game home stand continues against Columbus (TSN 1290), with Phoenix here Monday (TSN Jets, TSN 1290). Saturday will be Evander Kanes 300th NHL game. The 22-year-old has 11 points in the last 12 games, including seven goals. Pat Tillman Youth Jersey . Portuguese sides Benfica and Porto also advanced to the last eight while Basel overcame an early red card to win 2-1 at Salzburg and progress from a last-16 second leg that was briefly suspended because of crowd trouble. Lyon, Valencia and AZ Alkmaar will also be in Fridays draw in Nyon, Switzerland, where the team to avoid will be Juventus -- even though the Italian champions made heavy work of their all-Italian last-16 match against Fiorentina. Kurt Warner Jersey . On Wednesday night, they showed that stellar defence and a little small ball can get the job done too. With pinch-runner Kevin Pillar aboard after Dioner Navarro opened the bottom of the ninth with a single, Anthony Gose dropped down an excellent bunt along the first-base line. http://www.thecardinalsshoponline.com/by...nals-jersey-en/. Bale has had a successful debut season in Spain, and Ancelotti appears ready to reward him with a starting role on Saturday. Ancelotti says "Gareth had some problems at the beginning (of the season) but when he found good physical condition he scored a lot of goals, he had a good impact on the team. Kurt Warner Cardinals Jersey . Then Klay Thompson put his foot on the gas. Thompson scored 19 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and Harrison Barnes scored 14 points in his season debut to help the Golden State Warriors to a 106-93 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Kyler Murray Jersey .Airport spokeswoman Heather Lissner said that all departing flights were back on schedule. However, arriving flights were still trying to catch up.Super Bowl Sunday got off to an inconvenient start for hundreds of passengers trying to get to Phoenix for the game. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Even with a runner on second and an open base at first, Coco Crisp fully expected Boston closer Koji Uehara to come right after him. For the second straight game, Oaklands speedy leadoff hitter guessed right. Crisp singled in Alberto Callaspo with one out in the 10th inning and the Athletics beat the Red Sox 2-1 on Saturday to extend their winning streak to five games. "I was taking the approach they were going to come right after me," said Crisp, who also drove in the game-winning run during Fridays 4-3 win. "I didnt want to wait around for the splitter so I was hoping that he would come in to what I was looking for, and he did. Another lucky guess." Its the second game-ending hit for Crisp this season and seventh of his career. It also took Oakland off the hook after Bostons Dustin Pedroia scored the tying run in the eighth following a controvesial call that resulted in the ejection of As manager Bob Melvin. Boston put runners on the corners with two outs when Oakland reliever Luke Gregerson appeared to strike out Mike Napoli. Napoli argued that he fouled the ball off the dirt, and home plate umpire Quinn Wolcott agreed although television replays appeared to indicate otherwise. The umpiring crew met to discuss the play before upholding the original call. Under the current replay system, balls and strikes are not reviewable. "The plate umpire heard sound and thought the ball hit the ground and called it a foul ball," said crew chief Gerry Davis. "This type of play happens quite often actually, its a difficult call for us. And in order to change it we have to positive (proof)." Gregerson, who had celebrated the apparent strikeout, bounced his next pitch in front of home plate. The ball ricocheted off the chest protector of catcher Stephen Vogt and rolled toward the mound as Dustin Pedroia scored from third. After Napoli flew out to end the inning, Melvin raced out from Oaklands dugout and angrily confronted Wolcott before getting tossed. "My feeling is that if theres a play that needs to be reviewed, you should review it. You just cant on that one," Melvin said. "What I was told the call was was a foul ball that hit the dirt. And no one saw anything conclusive to overturn it.dddddddddddd. But after looking it, it was caught." The play prevented Oakland starter Jesse Chavez from winning his second straight start. Chavez took a no-hitter into the sixth and held the Red Sox scoreless through seven before giving way to the bullpen. He struck out four and walked four. The As have won the first three games of this four-game series by a total of four runs. Callaspo drew a leadoff walk against reliever Edward Mujica (2-3) in the 10th and was sacrificed to second. Uehara replaced Mujica before Crisp lined his first pitch into right field. Boston right fielder Brock Holt made a strong throw but Callaspo slid home with the game-winner. "Coco being Coco," Chavez said. "He did it last night and he did it again today." Boston was shut out for the first seven innings before Pedroia scored on a wild pitch in the eighth. The Red Sox missed a chance to take the lead in the top of the 10th when Oakland reliever Dan Otero struck out David Ortiz with two on and two out. "Weve had situations get away from us in terms of men in scoring position," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Weve got to continue to build opportunities. Whether or not we cash in on those, thats what we got to continue to focus on" Boston starter Rubby De La Rosa nearly matched Chavez in his first career appearance against the As. De La Rosa, who struck out four and walked four, retired the first six batters before Vogts triple off the extended wall in right-centre. Vogt scored on Alberto Callaspos sacrifice fly despite a stellar play by Holt, who had made a diving catch on Callaspos sinking liner in the gap in right-centre then threw home. Oakland managed only six runners over the next six innings until Callaspos leadoff walk in the 10th. NOTES: The As are 7-2 on this homestand. ... Melvins ejection is his first this season. ... Bostons Jon Lester (8-7) faces Oaklands Tommy Milone (5-3) on Sunday in a battle of lefties. Lester had a career-high 15 strikeouts against the As on May 3. ... Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley, who pitched for both franchises, threw out the first pitch. Eckersley currently works as a television analyst for the Red Sox. ' ' '
