While hardly a mainstream hit, the Air Woven and its constituents had a huge cult following in Japan. Woven uppers became much more prevalent in the early 2000s, but with the brand's newer sole units such as Lunar and, more recently, Air Max. Nike brought back the original Air Woven Boot late in 2017 as part of the overflowing "Flax" collection; it appears once more in a new black colorway with snakeskin leather heel panels one the huarache-style design (not the Air Huarache, nike air but the actual Mexican sandal). Nike's annual Air Max Day celebration has led to a re-issue of an acclaimed Air Max shoe of the past. Marking this year's "retro" is the Air Max 93 in the original "Dusty Cactus" colorway from 1993, a shoe that had not released since 2014. This model, designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield, debuted the first-ever Air Max unit that wrapped around the heel and was also referred to as the Air Max 270 for its three-quarter coverage of Air. Nike is dressing the Air Force 1 High up in a Triple Black color scheme that sports a canvas construction.
